The  Faces Behind Little Britain

Tim Child comes from the south of England and has lived and worked in London, Portsmouth and Bath. He is a Business Graduate with an MBA. He was a senior manager with a major business company,and then Managing Director of a British recruitment agency trading throughout Europe. He specialises in Business courses and undertakes some consultancy work. He is also author of much of the school's proficiency level and business English material and writes for the British Council.  

Zita Harsányi is Hungarian and has MAs in Linguistics and Hungarian literature and Applied Linguistics, she has also completed her English and American BA studies. She teaches English but specialises in teaching Hungarian to foreigners and her experience includes teaching English and Hungarian in the Budapest Hungarian-Chinese Bilingual School. She also worked as a teaching assistant in England.

Imre Homer grew up in San Francisco, California. He has a degree in Marketing and Finance from California State University and has gained a wide range of experience in businesses; helping clients to hire, train and motivate employees. He has advised businesses in the USA and in Hungary. His extensive experience and expertise in helping and developing businesses has been invaluable to many young enterprises. As one client said “Imre has provided us with solutions we never knew existed that grew our business.” He is dedicated to helping students learn and communicate more effectively in English in the business world.

Patricia Hughes is from London, England and she has been working as a facilitator on intensive English language workshops since 2006. She is also a copy-editor of English language textbooks for schools and a lector on Hungarian-English translations. Before moving to Hungary in 1998, Patricia spent many years working and lecturing in the computer industry.

Dave Thompson is from Bristol England and is a British actor, writer and comedian. He has BA Hons in Theatre and is a qualified teacher and drama therapist. He has an extensive background in presentation skills and is a published novelist, and has also written many jokes and sketches for television. He has worked extensively with Ben Elton, Harry Hill and Jim Tavere and has made many TV appearances, both in comedy and children’s television. He has worked continuously as a stand up comedian and has appeared on stage in over 30 countries. For LBS he specialises in presentation and writing skills.

Roszner  Ingrid was born in Bristol, England to Hungarian parents. She grew up there and trained as a history teacher. After working in the British National Health Service she decided to move to Hungary and completed her TEFL qualification. Today she has joint British and Hungarian citizenship. She gets a real buzz from working and interacting with my students. Her biggest thrill is when she hears that one of her students has been successful in their language exams.

Taylor Gombos is from Minnesota, USA.  He is qualified English teacher with an MA in Comparative History. Over the past few years he has built up extensive English language teaching experience in Hungary and the Czech Republic and in particular assisting with writing development. He also worked on English projects in Korea. His lively teaching style is a big hit with all ages.   

Noémi Blanka Borda is from Budapest and is an English and Art teacher who has worked extensively in both areas. She has spent time teaching in both Spain and the USA. She also spent a year’s scholarship in the Netherlands. She has extensive teaching experience with both children and young adults and exhibits her art work.  

Christopher Parsons is from Taunton in England. He qualified as an English teacher in 1998 and has extensive experience in Teaching English as a foreign language. Between 1998 and 2003 he taught English in the state sector in Praha working with children from 6 to 18. Since then he has worked mostly in the private sector teaching employees of large corporations such as SKUPINA C.E.Z. and O2Telifonica. He has also written synopses for film and art festivals and he is an accomplished guitar player.

Kinga Tompos is from New York, USA and has a Master's in English Literature and extensive experience in teaching English in the USA.  She has worked with both children and adults in language acquisition, reading, writing, and fluency. She has partially worked with young children struggling at school. Kinga has also worked with Boom Industries, Chicago as a copy editor and lector.

Dan Swartz is from Mansfield, Massachusetts, USA; and is a graduate of Bates College, Maine where he studied international relations, history, and Chinese Language. He qualified as an English teacher in 1990 and is an environmental activist and facilitator, writer and translator. He has worked extensively for and with Central and Eastern European environmental NGOs, local and national governments, and businesses on various environmental issues.

Erzsébet Dúcz is Hungarian and has an MA in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church, Budapest. She also has an MA in English Language and Literature, with a Literature and Culture Specialization from Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Budapest; where she also completed a minor in Hungarian. She spent a year working in Ireland with the Galway Simon Community. She is also a very she is a very keen member of the Szentendre Folkdance Ensemble, giving regular performances in Hungary and abroad. She also sings in choirs and is keen on linking drama and language.

Neil Watson is native English speaker who graduated from Warwick University with a BA Honours in German. After teaching he went on to have more than three decades in international Banking. He has worked at National Westminster Bank and HSBC in the UK, Bayerische Landesbank in the UK and Germany and MKB in Hungary. He was a main Board Director for MKB in Hungary. With LBS Neil Watson specialises in business courses.  

Gábor Szkórits-Tala is from Budapest and is qualified translator, interpreter and teacher. He has extensive experience in simultaneous, consecutive and liaison interpreting from English into Hungarian and from Hungarian into English. He has worked at events and conferences such diverse fields as IT, medical technology, economics, investments, politics, environmental protection, law, law enforcement, security, education and social inclusion.
